Distribution: Western Pacific including Taiwan, South China Sea, East Sea, South Korea and Japan. The products of the northern, eastern and southern regions of Taiwan are very rich.

Characteristics: The shape of the body is very similar to the Malabar grouper, it cannot be differentiated between them in the local market, and it is usually called the yellow grouper, and people in Taiwan prefer to farm this species now, where it can lay eggs throughout the year. It has sensitive scales, and when it reaches swelling when transported, it is difficult to transport it for long distances, but it has become an essential element for Taiwan in its competition in consumer markets compared to Southeast Asian countries.
